Newsells Park Winery was proud to support the Retraining of Racehorses’ My Pension Expert Racing to Cricket fundraising day at the beautiful Wormsley Cricket Ground in September. It was a huge success, raising more than £50,000 in support of the charity.
Guests were treated to a memorable day of cricket, hospitality and celebration, all in aid of helping former racehorses enjoy the best possible life after racing. The day combined sporting spirit with generosity, creating a fantastic atmosphere both on and off the field.
On the pitch, Quadranet were crowned champions after some thrilling matches, with Nicky Henderson’s Seven Barrows team finishing runners-up, and the plate was won by Jack Channon’s team. Other teams providing such wonderful entertainment and representing the horseracing world were from the racing yards of Warren Greatrex, Richard Hannon and Nigel Twiston-Davies, as well as Tattersalls and Weatherbys Bank.
At the drinks reception sponsored by Newsells Park Winery guests enjoyed drinking our Nathaniel Blancs de Blancs and Shambolic Sparkling Rosé, both perfect for the occasion and enjoyed by over 200 people attending this special and unique day.
Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) is British horseracing’s official charity for the welfare of horses who have retired from racing, undertaking work to safeguard their future and give former racehorses happy and meaningful lives beyond the racetrack.
