Newsells Park Winery sponsor drinks reception at TBA Awards

Newsells Park Winery was delighted to recently sponsor the drinks reception at the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) Flat Breeders’ Awards for the 2024 season.

Held at the beautiful Chippenham Park on Wednesday 9^th July, TBA Members and their guests were greeted on arrival with our Classic Cuvée, a premium English Sparkling Wine which is named after our record- breaking broodmare Shastye.

Shastye really was that mare in a million and her achievements and the exploits of her progeny would be well known by the guests. Bought by Klaus J Jacobs and John Warren at Tattersalls December Sale in 2005 for 625,000gns, she could hardly be considered cheap, but what a bargain she turned out to be. Her yearlings alone generated over £15 million at public auction and more importantly she produced three Group 1 winners, Japan, Mogul and Secret Gesture.

The evening celebrated the achievements of British-bred successes in the thoroughbred breeding world, including thoroughbreds, breeding establishments and highly respected individuals.  Newsells Park Stud general manager, Julian Dollar, was also in attendance to present Godolphin with the Queen’s Silver Cup as the leading British-based Flat Breeder, an award also won by Newsells Park Stud previously.
