About Shambolic

Shambolic is our young and highly promising elite broodmare. Her first foal, Ylang Ylang, won the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile, a race in which Shambolic was placed in, as well as being placed in other high-class Stakes races. Bred and raced by the Dukes of Devonshire and Roxburghe, Shambolic also has the perfect pedigree. She is a half-sister to Viva Pataca, an eight-time Group 1 winner in Hong Kong, while her sire, Shamardal, continues to establish himself as a broodmare sire of the highest class. Newsells Park Stud purchased Shambolic in partnership with Merry Fox Stud at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale in 2019.

Shambolic's Progeny

Shambolic's career as a broodmare got off to a flying start with her first foal Ylang Ylang claiming victory in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket as a two-year-old in 2023. Bred at Newsells Park Stud and sired by the legendary Frankel, Ylang Ylang had already made headlines when selling for 1.5 million guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale the previous year to the prestigious Coolmore Stud. Shambolic’s most recent yearling offered at Tattersalls in 2024 was also highly sought after by the leading global racing enterprises, ultimately selling to Godolphin for 3,700,000 guineas. Her remarkable start as a broodmare leaves us excited for what’s yet to come.
